Where have I been?

Hi I'm back! I was sick for what seemed like forever and then busy getting back on track. I have a new sickness preventer thing. It's called a Neti pot and I just got it today cause my sinuses are still bothering me and I think it's because I was supposed to get a 10 day treatment of antibiotic and I only got 8 days worth. But now we are health insurance-less so what's a girl to do? I heard these things work great and help keep sinus problems/allergies at bay so I went out and bought it. Let me tell you I'm not very good at it yet and because I have such a strong gag reflex it hasn't been pretty. But I will keep practicing until I get it. I guess the technical term for all of this is "nasal irrigation" and it is actually preferred by physicians worldwide over steroids and antibiotics. I prefer the natural way anyway so I'm willing to give it a shot.

Hi.....Still Sick

I'm starting to get angry here. I've had this cold/cough thing for 7 days now and I can't remember ever being sick this long. And by sick I mean I have so little energy that getting out of bed to eat something wipes me out. Usually I'll have a little cold but it doesn't really stop me from doing anything. This week I've missed church, work and rehearsals. Seriously, I'm DONE already.

Ear infections and fevers and sickness oh my!

There's nothing I hate more than being sick. AJ started it last week, followed by Eliana and now me! Fortunately they're pretty much done with it all but I'm only on day 2 and I can't wait for it to be over. I didn't move from my bed yesterday but once. Thanks to the greatest husband ever for taking the kids to church, doing laundry and making dinner!

Inauguration Fever and School Choice

It's been on TV all day and even the kids got into it! Eliana has been saying Barack Obama all day and AJ wants to go see the White House. He's actually already seen it but he was only 15 months old so I showed him the pictures from that little vacation we took....seems like so long ago. In other exciting news, Jonathan and I went to an open house at a charter school we'd love AJ to go to in the fall. Unfortunately there's a lottery and siblings of kids who already go there get preference. We find out in February if he gets one of the slots for kindergarten. We pretty much NEVER get our name picked in raffles and stuff so say a prayer!!!!!!!!!!!

Just in case you haven't heard yet.....

Since our kids, especially AJ eat peanut butter almost every day, I was in a state of panic when I heard this. Fortunately for us we just use jarred peanut butter and the main issue is in the other other peanut products. Here's the scoop on the recall.
