Lonely Friday Night and other random thoughts
Can I tell you how much I can't wait for Jonathan to be done with tests!?!?!?! I know, only 1 more week of studying but seriously it's getting old. I want my Poppa Bear back! Can I also tell you how much I love the Amy's brand of frozen food? I always buy the pizzas and tonight I tried the veggie burgers and they were soooo good. I will never eat any other kind of burger again! I'm also thoroughly enjoying watching the National Spelling Bee on TV. I actually won my school spelling bee in 5th grade and went on to place 3rd in the state. I may also do some sewing tonight and some online trivia games. Wow.... veggie burgers, spelling, sewing and trivia.....hopefully our kids will grow up to be as cool and nerdy as me!

My only Vice
I've figured something out that I've thought about for a long time. Some people need caffeine, some need to drink, some need to jog.....I've figured out the thing I need in order to feel my best....dancing! I guess obviously I've known that on some level for the past 12 years but since I just started back earlier this year on a regular basis I realize how joyous it makes me and how I never want to stop!!!! I'll be dancing and performing with a cane someday probably. I even enjoy it in our home...I love teaching AJ and Eliana and I must say they are quite talented and coordinated for two small children. All that being said I just started rehearsing again for a performance in August. I've had a break for about 6 weeks and I must say that is much too long for me! I already feel better after just 1 day back. Sighs of happiness.....
AJ ate some of his dinner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My little bear did it! Tonight Jonathan made a casserole with ground turkey, broccoli, cheese, and the "shell" of it are these round potato things...kind of like hash browns. AJ had some of those! Now I guess I should be disappointed that he didn't want the broccoli but WHO CARES? He was so proud of himself and so were we of course. Hopefully he'll just get more and more adventurous in the food department, but for now we'll just keep celebrating this small victory.

Saving Money
Last month our dryer unexpectedly broke so I resorted to drying clothes on a rack, like I did in college for my MANY leotards and tights. It took about a week for the parts to come in so Jonathan could fix it and I know that the dryer is an energy monster so I thought this would be a good time to experiment and see if not using it as much would help our electric bill...and it did! It went down $25! So what I've been doing is only drying heavy things (like jeans,towels,etc..) and blankets and sheets (which are too big to hang). Eliana has been getting into the act too...she loves to hang all the socks on the drying rack!

Argh...what a way to ruin a relaxing moment
Today I decided to cash in my Mother's Day gift and go get a massage. As I'm leaving the locker room I'm relaxed, my muscles are less sore and I have a feeling of peace....until I get to the reception area and I hear, "Do you own a silver Camry? I have bad news for you...someone has hit your car." Fortunately the woman left her name and number and didn't just drive off. Hopefully she's as cooperative about paying for the passenger door that won't open. :)

My Very SMART Husband
To make the good news known to all.....Jonathan got an 87 on his Series 7 test yesterday! I think the national average is only a 73 or something like that so we are all very proud of him. So lucky am I to have an intelligent, good-looking, funny, helpful, considerate, hard-working, great father to our kids husband! Sigh......Go Papi!

Quotes from my Kids
AJ: "If we're on the main road does that mean we're in Maine?"
Eliana: "Do I have a penis?"
Jonathan (in response to the above): "Do you think it's time we give them separate baths?"

Happy Mother's Day
I hope everyone had a wonderful day...with their moms, with their kids or both! I have to post this picture of the beautiful bracelet AJ made for me at school. He wanted me to open it on Thursday when he brought it home so of course I was happy to oblige. :) Eliana's been saying "Happy Mo Day" all day long! I also got to take a nap today which was soooo great. Other than that it was dinner with the family and now we're back to reality (i.e overflowing laundry) at home.

Things seem to be turning around for us
As many of you know Jonathan hasn't been working for awhile now. So it's been hard on everyone in our house and we've all been crankier than usual for the past 8 months, snapping at each other over really stupid things and just being really down in the dumps. First I want to say thank you to all our family and friends who have been there for us through all of this. I would also like to report than Jonathan will be taking 1 of the tests he needs to start his new job on Wednesday. So please pray for him! There are a few other tests but this one is the biggest one so it's vital that he passes. He's been doing really well on the practice tests so let's hope that translates into a passing grade for the real one. He's also been doing some side work landscaping so that's brought in some extra money. And someone is buying our old house! So it seems things are finally looking up and I hope I'm not jinxing everything by saying so!

Don't forget...this Saturday!
This Saturday the post office is collecting non-perishables for the needy in our communities. All you have to do is a fill a bag and leave it next to your mailbox. I'm pretty sure it's nationwide but check with your local post office to be sure!

The Greatest Show on Earth
Well it was a rainy Saturday here so we were happy to have tickets for the circus! It was very fun and on the way home AJ informed us that when he grows up he wants to be a motorcyclist in the circus who goes round and round in this big circular cage with 6 other guys riding motorcycles. I can't wait! Eliana's favorite part.....the trapeze and the "horsies."
